Sales Development Executive - entry level.

Hitchin | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm | Full-time - Office based

We are working with an established Hitchin-based business who are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Sales Development Executive to join their busy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in sales. Full training will be provided, and there is an excellent opportunity to progress within the organisation into a Business Development Manager role.

You will be responsible for speaking with prospective clients, introducing the company and its services, identifying key decision-makers and generating new business opportunities by arranging appointments for the Business Development team.

Day-to-Day Duties

• Making a high volume of outbound calls to prospective clients
• Introducing the company and its services to potential new clients
• Researching businesses and identifying key decision-makers
• Speaking confidently and professionally with decision-makers and contacts
• Handling gatekeepers professionally and effectively
• Asking initial questions to understand a client's needs
• Booking appointments for Business Development Managers
• Following up on conversations via telephone, email and LinkedIn
• Maintaining accurate records of calls, contacts and conversations
• Consistently following up with prospective clients
• Working towards agreed activity levels, appointment targets and team objectives
• Passing more complex conversations to experienced colleagues where appropriate
• Developing your knowledge of the company, its services and the wider sales process

Candidate Specification

Our client is looking for someone who:

• Is confident and comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
• Is prepared to make cold calls and enjoys starting conversations with new people
• Communicates clearly and professionally
• Has the resilience to move on positively to the next call
• Brings energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the team
• Is motivated by targets and takes pride in achieving results
• Is keen to learn and develop their sales skills
• Is interested in building a long-term career within the organisation
• Lives locally to Hitchin
• Is happy to work full-time in the office

Previous sales experience is not essential as full training will be provided. What matters most is your confidence, communication skills, resilience and willingness to learn.

Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
