Interaction Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Baldock for an experienced Production & Purchasing Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in purchasing, production administration, materials planning or manufacturing administration to join a busy team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring materials and components are available when required, while keeping production and purchasing information accurate and up to date.

Working closely with production, purchasing, estimating and management, you will be responsible for coordinating a range of purchasing and production administration activities, including:

• Using and maintaining information within the company's ERP/MRP system
• Entering and processing customer quotations
• Loading and managing production works orders
• Ensuring job information is accurate and kept up to date
• Raising purchase orders for materials, components and subcontracted services
• Ordering materials required for current and upcoming production jobs
• Monitoring outstanding purchase orders and supplier deliveries
• Chasing suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time
• Checking expected delivery dates and communicating any delays
• Ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements
• Liaising with production, purchasing, estimating and management teams
• Checking supplier order confirmations against purchase orders
• Updating purchase orders where quantities, prices or delivery dates change
• Identifying potential material shortages that could affect production
• Maintaining accurate purchasing, supplier and production records
• Supporting the wider office and production team with general administration when required

We are looking for an experienced and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and is confident managing multiple orders, jobs and deadlines.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within purchasing, production administration, supply chain, materials planning or manufacturing
• Experience using an ERP or MRP system
• Previous experience raising and managing purchase orders
• Experience ordering materials, components or services
• Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal departments
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to prioritise workloads and follow up outstanding actions
• Good computer and data-entry skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive approach to resolving issues and keeping things moving
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider team

Experience within metal fabrication, sheet metalwork, engineering or manufacturing would be particularly advantageous.

Experience using MIE Trak would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong experience using other ERP/MRP systems will also be considered.
