Job Description:

Production Manager


This is an opportunity to join an established manufacturing business where you'll inherit a well-run operation and be given the freedom to make the role your own. Working a four-day week with every Friday off, you'll take ownership of a production function that is already performing well while having the autonomy to introduce new ideas, drive improvements and make a genuine impact on the future direction of the operation.


Reporting into senior leadership, you'll take responsibility for overseeing day-to-day production activities, managing a small team and ensuring products are delivered on time, to the required quality standards and as efficiently as possible. The business designs and assembles its products in-house, giving you visibility across the entire manufacturing process and the opportunity to have a real impact on how things are done.


The production function is in a good place and doesn't require a complete overhaul. Instead, the business is looking for someone who can bring energy, ideas and leadership, building on existing strengths while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You'll work closely with colleagues across production, supply chain and engineering, helping ensure operations continue to run smoothly whilst supporting future growth.


Managing a team of five assembly staff, you'll be responsible for planning workloads, monitoring performance, maintaining quality standards and ensuring production targets are achieved. The role would suit an experienced Production Manager, but it could equally appeal to a Supervisor or Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and assume greater responsibility.


A mechanical background would be particularly beneficial, as would experience within assembly-led manufacturing environments. You'll also be involved in process improvement initiatives, production planning and the effective use of ERP systems to support manufacturing operations.


There is also a genuine opportunity for career progression, with a potential pathway into a senior leadership or Director-level position in the future.


Key Skills & Experience


• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment


• Previous experience managing, supervising or leading production teams


• Assembly or electro-mechanical manufacturing experience


• Strong understanding of production planning and operational performance


• Experience using ERP systems such as MS Dynamics or similar


• Knowledge of continuous improvement and process optimisation


• Understanding of quality systems and ISO standards


• Good mechanical understanding and troubleshooting ability


• Strong organisational and leadership skills


• Ability to analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities


• Excellent communication and team management skills


• Ambition to grow and develop within a leadership role
