Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hatfield
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Overtime: Available

We’re currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role with excellent earning potential, ongoing training, and a clear route into senior-level positions.

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring machinery and facilities remain safe, reliable and operational.

You’ll work as part of a professional maintenance team, responding to breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance and helping to identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
• Maintain machinery, equipment and associated mechanical systems.
• Identify potential issues before they develop into major faults.
• Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation.
• Work safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Work alongside other engineers and departments to minimise downtime.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical maintenance background who is confident working independently and as part of a team.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance engineering role.
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
