English Teacher

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,602–£54,328 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications; pro rata for part-time
Contract: Temporary, full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE)
Start date: January 2027

Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a thriving English department at an ambitious secondary school in St Albans.

Your responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that challenge pupils and support different learning needs.
• Develop pupils reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to help pupils achieve their potential.
• Create an inclusive classroom with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues on resources and teaching approaches.
• Contribute to pastoral care and wider school life through clubs, trips or enrichment activities.
