Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

📍 St Albans, Hertfordshire
💷 Up to £40,000 per year
⏰ Full-time

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of an established children’s residential home providing therapeutic, child-centred care.

As a Deputy Manager, you will:

• Support and supervise the residential care team.
• Oversee shifts and staff rotas.
• Support safeguarding and child protection.
• Contribute to care plans, reviews and risk assessments.
• Monitor incidents and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure care documentation and compliance are maintained.
• Support the Registered Manager with the smooth running of the home.
• Mentor and develop Residential Support Workers.
• Support administrative and financial procedures.

About You

• Experience in children’s residential care / residential childcare.
• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker.
• Level 3 Children & Young People / Residential Childcare qualification.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Excellent administration, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Confident completing reports, care documentation and risk assessments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
