Residential Support Worker - EBD Children's Home
Location: Stevenage
Shifts Available: Day Shifts & Waking Night Shifts
Pay Rate: £14.00 - £17.00 per hour
Additional: Sleep-in allowance paid separately
About the Role
We are currently recruiting compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to join a specialist EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children's residential service in Stevenage.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Both day and waking night positions are available on a flexible rota basis.
Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Promoting positive routines, boundaries, and independence
• Building trusted and professional relationships with young people
• Supporting with daily living activities, education, and appointments
• Managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques
• Maintaining accurate records, incident reports, and care notes
• Ensuring the home remains safe, supportive, and compliant with safeguarding standards
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, and external professionals

Requirements

• Previous experience working within residential childcare, supported living, or similar care settings
• Experience supporting young people with EBD/challenging behaviour is desirable
• A caring, resilient, and professional approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
